Getting Ears Pierced, Help?

I am getting my ears pierced at Clair's, please don't tell me that I shouldn't. I am getting a pair of white gold starter earrings, about $40.50 or so. How much is the bottle of the solution stuff? And, are gold earrings good for you, are they the best to pick? And is their anything else that you need to pay for, please list price, and I already know I have to pay for tax.
