Medical Question on Ears. I seem to have a Chronic Infection for the last 6 months but whenever i talk to my?

Doctor he seems to fob me off with tonsillits. but now i am getting a vinegar smelling discharge from my ear, that sticks around the entrance of the ear. Do you think I should be more forceful, do you think i have an infection and if so should i be more forceful with the Doctor to be more thorough
