Why bother answering questions?

I want to get my points up on yahoo answers. I keep trying to answer as many questions as possible, with a thorough, and well thought response, but it seems most people couldnt care less what I have to say. I can help but think my time wouldnt be better served just cheating and not bothering answering questions.
